Who we are
powerlists.org is run by Urgesta AS, Øvre Kråkenes 3A, Bønes, Norway. Urgesta AS is the data controller for the personal data collected on this website. If you have a question about your data, email [email protected].
What we collect and why
Newsletter and free downloads. When you sign up for the newsletter or a free download, we collect your email address and, if you give it, your name. We use them to send you what you asked for and occasional emails about our books and checklists. We do this because you consented, and you can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of every email. Sign-ups are stored on our own email list server (Listmonk), which sends our emails through Amazon SES.
Comments. If you leave a comment, we store your name, email address, website (if you give one), the comment itself and your IP address. We use them to show your comment and to catch spam. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a comment section that isn’t flooded with spam.
Visitor statistics and cookies. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and records only anonymous page views. We set no tracking or advertising cookies, so there is no cookie banner. See our Cookie Policy.
Server logs. Like every website, our hosting records technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. This is used to keep the site secure and working, which is our legitimate interest.
Who processes your data for us
- Cloudflare hosts the website, provides the domain’s DNS and network services, and runs the anonymous visitor statistics.
- Our email list server (Listmonk) stores newsletter and download sign-ups, and Amazon Web Services (SES) delivers our emails.
We don’t sell your personal data, and we don’t share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Transfers outside Europe
Some of these providers are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there. These transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Newsletter sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact form messages are kept as long as we need them to deal with your request. Comments stay as long as they’re published on the site.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We’ll answer within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet, at datatilsynet.no.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
